Privacy at a glance

This Privacy Policy explains how IHOR.DEV handles information when you use Privacy Lens. The Extension has one clear purpose: Privacy Lens locally analyzes the active website to explain what browser-visible data the site can access, store, and transmit. It presents the results as a clear privacy report, including trackers, cookies, external domains, permissions, network activity, and practical privacy recommendations.

NO_REMOTE_DATA_COLLECTION

No personal information, usage analytics, browsing history, or page content is transmitted to IHOR.DEV or any third party.

1. Information processed or collected

The Extension performs only the processing required to provide the feature or service requested by the user:

  • When you start an analysis, Privacy Lens examines browser-visible properties of the active website, including page characteristics, forms, fingerprinting signals, and exposed device or browser information.
  • It inspects cookies and site-storage metadata associated with the active website so it can distinguish first-party and third-party storage and identify potential tracking or persistence risks.
  • It observes request metadata such as destinations, resource types, timing, and first-party or third-party status to identify trackers, analytics services, external domains, and potential data-exfiltration patterns. It does not send request contents to external servers.
  • It reads relevant browser content and permission settings and monitors navigation events so each report stays associated with the correct page.

Local processing happens within your browser and does not mean that IHOR.DEV receives or stores the information.

2. How permissions are used

Privacy Lens requests access only to the website the user chooses to analyze and uses that access solely to create the requested local privacy report.

contentSettings
Inspects relevant browser content and permission settings for the analyzed website. Privacy Lens does not change these settings without an explicit user action.
cookies
Inspects cookies associated with the active website to distinguish first-party and third-party storage and flag possible tracking or persistent-storage risks.
host permissions
Allows Privacy Lens to inspect browser-visible page information, site storage, permissions, and network activity only on websites selected by the user.
scripting
Injects packaged analysis scripts into the active tab after the user starts an analysis to detect exposed device information, forms, fingerprinting techniques, trackers, and related privacy activity.
storage
Saves extension settings, preferences, locally generated analysis results, cached detection data, and privacy recommendations in the user's browser.
webNavigation
Detects when the analyzed tab starts, completes, reloads, or changes navigation so observations remain associated with the correct document.
webRequest
Observes request metadata for the analyzed website so Privacy Lens can identify trackers, external domains, analytics services, and possible data-exfiltration patterns.

Permissions are not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to the project's user-facing functionality.

3. Remote code

NO_REMOTE_CODE

Privacy Lens does not execute remotely hosted code. All JavaScript, analysis logic, rules, and other executable resources are included within the Extension package. Remote responses are not evaluated or executed as code.

4. Storage, retention, and deletion

Extension settings, user preferences, locally generated analysis results, cached detection data, and privacy recommendations may be stored in browser-managed local storage. This information remains on the user's device and is not used for advertising or external tracking. Users can remove it by clearing the Extension's data or uninstalling the Extension.

5. Sharing, sales, and advertising

The Extension does not sell, rent, disclose, or transfer user data. It contains no advertising and uses no analytics or tracking services. No information is used for personalized advertising or shared with data brokers.

6. Security

The Extension is designed to keep its required processing within your browser and does not transmit user information to servers operated by IHOR.DEV. You should keep Chrome and the Extension updated and protect access to your device and browser profile.

7. Children's privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and IHOR.DEV does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The Extension’s use of information is limited to providing or improving its disclosed single purpose. Its handling of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the Extension’s functionality or privacy practices change. Any revision will be published on this page with a new Last updated date. Material changes to data practices will also be disclosed where required.
